Committee Positions

Teacher Grant Committee

The Teacher Grant Program is at the heart of the APSF, providing volunteers the opportunity to serve our Apex school community in a very unique way. Members, along with the Teacher Grant Chair, work each year to ensure the success of the Program.This includes:

  • Review grants against a rubric to ensure a fair process for each teacher’s application (currently October-November)
  • Opportunity to help present grant awards in the spring
  • Support maintenance and continual improvement of the program and processes
  • Brainstorming new ideas for the program
  • Attend regular virtual meetings
  • 🌙 Great for evenings and weekends

This committee meets on a monthly basis. Time commitment will increase during the grant review process (typically Sept-Nov).

Programs Committee

APSF Shout-out Coordinator

  • Coordinate and prepare social posts of recognition for area schools. Requires availability one day per week to deliver gifts to schools during operating hours (preferably on Tuesdays). Approximately 1 hour time commitment each week.

Outreach Event Coordinator

  • Works with Board of Directors to plan and implement APSF involvement in annual community events including but not limited to:
    • PeakFest
    • Trick or Treat on Salem Street
    • Apex Christmas Parade

This committee meets on a monthly basis. Time commitment will increase during the grant review process (typically Sept-Nov).

Audit Committee

Members will review the financial records of the foundation and report their findings to the APSF Board of Directors. Not a full year commitment, audit committee typically meets and reviews records between July 1 and Sept 30 of each year.

Fundraising Committee

Members will work with the Fundraising Chair & Coordinators to plan and execute fundraising events/drives over the course of the school year. Time commitment varies during the year and increases around events/drives.

Donor Correspondence Coordinator

  • Send personalized notes, emails and/or texts to donors. Likely commitment of just an hour or two each month.
  • 🌙 Great for weekends and evenings
  • 🏠 All work can be performed remotely

Fundraising Events Coordinator(s)

  • Plan & implement new and annual fundraising events & programs such as the Ice Cream Eating Contest, Oh What Fun! & Scavenger Hunt. Fundraising event calendar varies year to year.
  • Delegate tasks to committee members.
  • 📣 Actively recruiting!

Sponsorship Coordinator

  • Organize annual fund drive
  • Coordinate Business Advisory Committee (BAC) membership and meetings
  • 📣 Actively recruiting!

Communications Committee

Members will work with the Communications Chair on marketing and outreach efforts.

Blog Coordinator

  • Write and maintain APSF blog 6x a year
  • 🌙 Great for weekends and evenings
  • 🏠 All work can be performed remotely

Newsletter Coordinator

  • Organize and create quarterly newsletter
  • 🌙 Great for weekends and evenings
  • 🏠 All work can be performed remotely

Social Media Manager

  • Push out APSF social media posts on Apex-area Facebook groups and Nextdoor.
  • Recruit community members to act as neighborhood liaisons sharing APSF posts on neighborhood boards

  • 🏠 All work can be performed remotely
  • 📣 Actively recruiting!

Technology Coordinator

  • Works with Communications Chair to support the Board of Directors & all APSF committees by:
  • Maintaining web properties and platforms
  • Identifying technological areas of improvement
  • Researching, recommending, and implementing solutions that further the APSF mission
  • 🌙 Great for weekends and evenings
  • 🏠 All work can be performed remotely
